The Suites
Each room at Lonpo Heritage House has its own character its own light, its own view, its own particular feeling of having arrived somewhere that was made with care. None of them are the same. None of them try to be.
A Quiet Approach
Shelkhang for those who want space wide rooms, high ceilings, and the kind of quiet that asks nothing of you. Thokkar for those who feel most at home where the room opens onto something living a garden, a breeze, the slow pace of a Ladakhi morning. Rabsal for those who want everything the house has to offer, arranged around them with care and without fuss.
Whichever you choose, the welcome is the same. The attention is the same. Only the view changes and in Ladakh, the view is always worth it.
Premium Heritage Room
"Space to breathe. Light to wake up to. Mountains to come back for."
Derived from the local words shel (glass) and khang (room), Shelkhang was traditionally used as a
winter guest room. Filled with natural sunlight through large windows, it is one of the warmest and most peaceful spaces in the house. Guests can enjoy panoramic views of the village and surrounding mountains.
Deluxe Heritage Room
A room where the garden is never far from mind — or reach."
Named after a traditional roof opening, Thokkar once served as a prayer and meditation room.
Today, it has been transformed into a premium bedroom with a modern attached bathroom. A skylight above the bed allows guests to enjoy Ladakh’s star-filled night sky from the comfort of their room.
Signature Suite
"The finest room in the house — and in Ladakh, that means something."
Historically the most prestigious room in the house, Rabsal was once reserved for members of the royal family.
Featuring its original wooden balcony, this heritage room offers stunning views of the village and nearby glaciers, combining history, comfort, and architectural beauty.
